The people of Nepal are currently in need of a great deal of support following the 7.8 –magnitude earthquake that shook the country on April 25, 2015. Though this type of disaster is natural, the devastation continues to escalate on a daily basis. The nation’s capital of Kathmandu and its surrounding communities are debilitated and in dire need of relief. Kathmandu has limited airspace access, dwindled water and food supply, destroyed shelter, and escalated hygiene issues.

At this time, the death toll has increased from an initial report of 150 to over 7,000, and is estimated to near 15,000 or more, with a number children left homeless and without their parents or families.

Sundance has long had a relationship with the Nepal Cleft & Burn Center, a local Salt Lake City-based non-profit. This is an organization who not only has led us to our Nepalese and Tibetan artisans over the years but who has also built a hospital in Kathmandu for the poorest who require medical surgery. Currently, the hospital is at capacity due to the recent circumstances and serves as an agent to support widespread medical assistance during this devastation. Unlike many of the national non-profits, 97% of contributions go to the recovery effort. The Nepalese need every penny.

Join Sundance in supporting the people of Nepal. Help provide much needed aid and medical supplies. Please visit http://www.nepalcleftandburncenter.org/ for more information or to make a donation.
