We are very pleased to feature artisan Ananda Khalsa this month and her collection that exemplifies the convergence of jewelry, art, and nature. Her unique pieces maintain a focal point on gorgeous, lush jewels, recycled metals, and charming hand painted images. Located in Northampton, Massachusetts, Ananda hand makes each jewelry item, striving to capture the timeless quality found in ancient jewelry, while creating pieces with a modern sensibility.
The Daintiest of Brushstrokes
Ananda’s delicately hand-painted pieces are charming works of Asian-inspired art reflecting the joy and purity of nature. An important influence in Ananda's work is the powerful symbolism behind each of the subjects she chooses to paint. Each finely detailed image is carefully created with acrylic paint on watercolor paper and is set beneath scratch-proof tempered glass. These miniature objet d'art are then expertly framed and set in recycled sterling silver or 22k gold.

Ananda’s gemstone pieces draw inspiration from natural forms and the vibrant luminosity of dramatic jewels. From glowing garnet to rich amethyst, each luxurious gemstone is handpicked for it's exceptional qualities. Once a gemstone is chosen, Ananda designs a hammered metal setting exclusive to the shape and form of that stone to create an heirloom quality piece of wearable art.
