Old Gringo Boots

Nothing captures the mood of fall like a pair of beautiful leather boots. At Sundance, we consider them a staple of our style. Just pulling them on brings to mind autumn’s quintessential sensations: the spicy aroma of apple cider; the crunch of dry leaves underfoot; the sway of a hayride under a glowing harvest moon.

Our Authentic Boot Collection embodies the spirit of Sundance, and for 25 years we have been proud to work with the most respected names in boot-making, offering our customers a line of footwear marked by artisanal character and handicraft. And, even after all this time, a collection like this still gets us excited. Every pair in our collection does more than look and feel great with all of fall’s styles; they capture elements of the very Sundance spirit itself: irrepressible adventure, ageless wonder, and timeless beauty.

The Frye Company Boots

Frye Belted Western Harness Boots
The Frye Company is known for authentic craftsmanship. Founded more than 150 years ago, it is the oldest continuously operating footwear brand in America, making it a true institution in the world of designer footwear. At twenty-three, John A. Frye began designing boots for working people like himself - people who spent long days on their feet on farms and in factories, whose labor pushed the young country forward. Sundance takes pride in partnering with a brand such as Frye for its authentic heritage and quality craftsmanship. Several exclusive styles have resulted from this relationship, and they remain some of the most comfortable and well-constructed boots you’ll find.

Frye's Carson Clog, exclusively Sundance
Take a look at the Western Belted Harness Boots, and you’ll see what we mean. Made in the USA exclusively for Sundance, they have it all: a classic, finely detailed design, with an attitude that’s one part durability, one part Wild West, and altogether ready to take their place among your fall favorites.

Lucchese Boot Company

Janis Boots and El Duke Boots by Lucchese
Like Sundance, the Lucchese Boot Company is deeply rooted in the American West and known for its outstanding characteristics and quality. Founder Salvatore Lucchese was born the son of a shoemaker in Sicily 1868. He immigrated to Texas as a teen where he founded a boot shop there with his brother. From the start, his were true pieces of artistry, combining cordwainer’s techniques, handed down from father to son, with the highest level of technical precision.

Our authentic Bob boot, designed by Robert Redford, was custom-made by these great creators of beautiful western boots. Their gorgeous designs and authentic character have made their footwear longstanding classics. And, we certainly approve of Lucchese’s El Duke: a stunning pair of embroidered, studded leather cowboy boots handmade in El Paso. Each stitch and stud is deftly placed, resulting in beauty that you’ll only get from Lucchese.

Old Gringo Boots

Old Gringo Star Boots
No collection would be complete without a pair of boots from Old Gringo. At Sundance, we love finding what is unusual and unexpected, and we love Old Gringo.

Though a younger brand, Old Gringo has a timeless soul. The company was founded in 2000, but they use boot-making arts that have changed little for centuries. Each pair of their boots is crafted entirely by hand in the company’s factory in Leon, Mexico, which employs over 250 local workers and artisans. They use only the finest materials in a construction process unique to the brand. Every pair is the culmination of more than 130 individual production steps, each requiring the keen attention and talent of a craftsperson. This is evident in the Olivia boots. These lavishly embroidered leather cowboy boots have all the vivacious charm of a desert garden in bloom - feminine enough to wear with a dress yet bold enough for a day at the rodeo.

With still more striking designs from these and other boot makers in our Authentic Boot Collection, the heritage and styles go on and on. But, the real story starts when you take a pair home and step into perfect autumn fashion.
